 COMMERCIAL STORE-BOUGHT PRODUCTS FOR

                        PAIN & INFLAMMATION

1.  ACETAMINOPHEN as in Tylenol is a key ingredient in many commercial products for pain and inflammation….

“the risks exceed the benefits” (BMJ British Medical Journal 2015;350:H1225 and BMJ May 9, 2017); risks include “myocardial infarction.”

2.  “NSAIDs” (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds) such as Naproxen, Diclofenac, Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Voltaren, Toradol, Feldene, Indocin in the past have been condemned (eg.Rofecoxib {Vioxx} was taken off the market after 230,000 people died directly from it Journal of American Medical Association JAMA April 16, 2008).

“NSAIDs are no more effective than paracetamol and have less favourable safety profile” quoted from Lancet November 1, 2014.

3.  ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID (or Salicylic acid/aspirin) has a long list of adverse effects and warnings including can cause bleeding, “can cause serious and sometimes fatal conditions,” dizziness, nausea, black stools, stomach ulcers, liver/kidney damage; do not take if using NSAIDs or if breastfeeding or going for surgery.

-carbomer, contains benzene, a known carcinogen

-isobornyl acetate – safety measures should be taken

-polyethylene glycol – many side effects documented

-polysorbate-20  - can disrupt gastrointestinal system

-propylene glycol – can cause many serious side effects
